Women's Employment Network to honor Ferrell Family and Ferrell Capital with the 2018 Beth K. Smith Award at WEN Annual Luncheon
KANSAS CITY, MO. — March 1, 2018 — The Ferrell Family & Ferrell Capital — Elizabeth J. & James E. Ferrell; Kathryn Ferrell Banks & David Banks; and Pamela A. Breuckmann — have been selected to be the 2018 Beth K. Smith Award recipients. As the 9th recipient(s) of the award, the aforementioned will receive the distinguished honor at the Women’s Employment Network (WEN) Annual Luncheon on April 4th at the Sheraton Crown Center.
The Beth K. Smith Award, named after one of WEN's co-founders, was created almost a decade ago to recognize individuals who have put a considerable time, talent, and treasure into WEN. A recipient can be a company, an individual, or an organization who has worked to advance the efforts and cause of the Women's Employment Network.
“We cannot thank the Ferrell Family and Ferrell Capital enough for their support, volunteerism, and leadership,” said Sherry Turner, President, and CEO of Women’s Employment Network. “The family and its business have been involved with WEN throughout the years on so many levels. Their passion for WEN’s mission has meant the world to us, as a staff, and, of course, to the women in our community. We look forward to recognizing their outstanding commitment on stage at our luncheon in April.”
The WEN Luncheon, which helps raise awareness and much-needed dollars for the organization, will be held this year on Wednesday, April 4th at the Sheraton Crown Center, Grand Ballroom (2345 McGee Street), beginning 11:45 a.m. The Luncheon is co-chaired by Cathy Baier, Principal, US Federal Properties, and Maria Maffry, Principal and Chief Development Officer, BNIM.
