Looking for volunteer opportunities in Kansas City that help women build confidence, careers, and financial independence? Women’s Employment Network (WEN) offers flexible ways to support women as they prepare for employment, grow professionally, and connect with new opportunities.

Volunteers can work directly with WEN clients through career readiness support, mock interviews, resume review, professional workshops, networking practice, and employer connection events. Whether you want to share your expertise, coach a client one-on-one, or volunteer with a group, your time can make an immediate impact on women and families in the Kansas City community.

Guest Presenter / Workshop Facilitator

Share your expertise on topics relevant to women in the workplace, career growth, entrepreneurship, financial confidence, leadership, or professional development.

Mock Interviewer

Conduct mock interviews with women participating in WEN programs and provide supportive feedback to help them prepare for real interview opportunities.

Resume Writing and Review

Work with WEN clients in person or remotely to help create, update, and strengthen resumes for job applications and career advancement.

Job Search Assistance

Support clients with job search strategies, online applications, career research, and job leads that align with their goals and experience.

Make a WENtroduction or Become a Networking Coach/Guide

Help women practice professional introductions, elevator pitches, career conversations, and follow-up skills in a supportive environment through WEN’s networking workshops and events, or meet one-on-one with a WEN client to discuss career paths and provide guidance

WEN Talks Speaker

Share your career journey, industry insight, or professional experience to help women explore career pathways and identify practical next steps.

Group Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer as a team or group by supporting networking workshops, career events, resume review sessions, or client connection opportunities.

WEN Works

Businesses host office tours for WEN women in training. Visits may include special presentations, receptions, mock interviews or other opportunities for women to learn about succeeding in the workplace.

Group Resume Review and Mock Interviewing

Send a group of employees to cover a resume-writing or mock-interviewing session at WEN.

Training Session Sponsors

Businesses and organizations can sponsor a class of women going through WEN's program. Class sponsors contribute orientation and celebration gifts for each woman, such as padfolios, planners, motivational items, flowers, etc., as well as provide volunteer support throughout the training session.
